Even though we are coming up on a month of the new schedule of back to in person learning, pick ups and drops off, I still am adjusting! If you can’t tell from my sporadic posting on IG, the blog and the LIKEtoKNOW.it app, I am drowning in my To Do List! Such is life I guess… But I did get my Registered Nurse application done this week, so I am very proud and excited about that!

This weekend it seems like we have a lot of plans, but we are all excited. Last night, we did a date night, just the two of us. We got the sitter for the first time since February 20th! Yes, we’ve gone out of town and had a couple nights alone since quarantine, but that was thanks to grandmother babysitters. It did feel a little strange to leave the house with our kids there, even though we, obviously, left them with someone we really trust. Saturday, we are planning on going down to Coronado and then Sunday, a family pool day! Unlike the rest of the world {in the Northern Hemisphere}, San Diego always takes a couple of months to get the memo that fall is here. We tend to always have some of our hottest days of the year in October. So wear your layers and sweaters for me!
Friday Five
1 – COZY SWEATERS – Even if the San Diego weather isn’t cooperating, October means cozy sweaters. Plus, I honestly forgot about an upcoming mountain vacation. As with every other girl, ever, I have a closet full of sweaters, but have none for said trip. I recently shared this oversized cozy knit on my stories. Super excited that it is as cozy as cashmere, yet made of recycled polyester and is under $40. I also geeked out about this jewel button cardigan and matching sweater crop top to wear underneath. Shop more fall ready, yet wallet friendly, finds, many more made from recycled fabrics. No reason you can’t be cute and fall ready, yet doing good for the earth!
2 – SCHOOL HEATWAVE – the school we chose for Madrid couldn’t be better. We have been beyond impressed with how they’ve handled everything and knew we made the right decision sending her there. They are being super cautious about air conditioning and circulation. Due to these precautions, Madrid has been coming home at noon to do an hour of afternoon class on Zoom. Yet another change of schedule, yet I think I prefer having her home at midday! {and the new air circulation will be completed over the weekend.}
3 – ASYMMETRICAL FLEECE – This is how I know it is fall: these fleeces come back in stock! I have already purchased a solid olive green one during one of their summer sales. When I spotted this color way on sale, I had to have it. It was a sneaky discount that, if you had 3 of the same items in different colors in your cart, you got 20% off your entire purchase. Make sure you are following my stories on Instagram! I will continue to share when this fall friendly fleece goes on sale again! {don’t worry, it will.}
4 – DRUNK ELEPHANT SPF – I recently misplaced this tinted SPF moisturizer and didn’t realize how much I loved it until I couldn’t find it! I quickly ordered a replacement, but wouldn’t you know, I found it before the replacement could arrive. I originally didn’t like that it was so little coverage. But what I missed about it was the moisturizing, subtle glow and, obviously, the SPF.
5 – RUNNING SHOES – this might be one the most asked questions in my DMs: for running shoe recommendations. I bought these months ago during quarantine and am ordering a replacement, today. Can’t wait to get more cooler long outdoor runs in once the weather cools and day light savings starts so it isn’t the middle of the night dark before 6:30am. {I, 9 times out of 10, wear a 7 in regular shoes. I got these in a 7 1/2}.
