As the weather gets warmer, I find it so funny that this tends to be when diets hit a wall. We all know that abs are made in the kitchen in the winter, but I would think wearing less clothing, lighter layers and the prospect of being in a bikini all summer would encourage me to put down the donuts. For whatever the reason, it is actually the opposite for me. When it dawned on me last week that I would be in a bikini all this weekend, I panicked and ate a batch of cookies. Why? Probably because I have had negative self body talk my entire life. I have, very few times in my life, felt like I looked ok in a bikini or in everyday clothes.
While my food and body image is not something that is awesome and I want to put out there all that badly, I want to share incase you feel the same way. I want you to know you are not alone.
Now with a daughter, who is always listening, where I am lucky enough to be a women in this treacherous, trying, exciting time to be a women, where our rights are at the forefront, our voices are being heard and body acceptance is better than ever, I want to encourage myself, in this post to fell good in my skin. You get your body bikini ready, simply by putting on a bikini! You, yes YOU, look great no matter your pant size, if you have an affinity for donuts or churros, like myself, or are simply self consioucs in my own bikini body {me, me, ME!!!}
No matter how I am feeling, and even if I am trying to eat more veggies {you didn’t think this was a thing that vegetarians worried about, did you???}, nothing like some new workout gear to simply get me motivated to push it in the gym. I am still working through this hip injury that just won’t quit, but I wanted to share what is sitting in multiple online shopping carts of mine to make me feel awesome in the gym so I feel awesome outside of it too. {this bra and these highlighter leggings, are my most recent purchases that inspired this post.}
Saturday:
OrangeTheory : doing the bike instead of running on the treadmill.
Sunday:
Sweat App: Fierce Full Body Week 7
Since this part of the Sweat App is showing to be mostly full body workouts, if there is ever an exercise that I don’t want to do because I did a similar movement the day before and I want to give those muscles a break, I just sub in something that I always love to do, basically anything to tone my arms. Think bicep curls to a shoulder dress, shoulder press alone, or alienating back lunge to shoulder press.
Monday:
OrangeTheory, never miss a Monday
Tuesday:
OrangeTheory, still having to stay off the treadmill. I know I sound crazy, but it is my favorite thing, so to see my station empty while I am on the strider, breaks my heart.
Wednesday:
OrangeTheory, on Wednesdays, I go to a different studio, since it is closer to preschool drop off. I love that my mom time frame allowed me to find another instructor I love with the most amazing playlists!
Thursday:
Sweat App: Fierce Full Body Week 7
Friday:
Off. Lots of stretching and foam rolling.
Saturday:
OrangeTheory, hopping on the rower, {which used to be my least favorite part of the class, and is now my favorite} whenever I found a free station!
