Working out on vacation is something that we have always done. When we were dating, we didn’t live together, so working out together on vacation was a way to spend more time together {and make room for vacation eating and drinking.} My breakdown of what I did for a workout below can be done anywhere. Which means, no excuses. Just because you are on vacation, doesn’t mean your workouts have to be.

Saturday:

Sunday:
OrangeTheory, got to get it in before spending most of the day in the car driving for our vacation to the Santa Ynez valley!
Monday:
3 mile outdoor run in Los Olivos. My first outdoor run in a month! No hip pain and it was glorious!
{I’ve been dealing with a hip injury from, it pains me to say, but I think from too much uphill sprinting at OrangeTheory. I’ve been alternating between using the stationary bike and the strider in class in place of the treadmill for about 3 months. I finally stopped hurting while walking about 2 weeks ago. I didn’t want to push it or try to run until our vacation in Los Olivos, since I knew our rented property didn’t have a gym and outdoor workouts would be the only option.}
Tuesday:
3-4 rounds back to back try not to take any breaks
-10 push ups
-40 mountain climbers
3 rounds
-squat to overhead press x10-12 {I used a little bench/ side table that I found on the patio of our AirBNB}
-shoulder press x12-15
-squat jumps x10
3 rounds
-12 Heisman’s each side
-tricep dips x12-15
-squat jump x10
Wednesday:
3.6 mile run through the vineyards of Santa Ynez {I promise, I have a travel guide post coming!}
Thursday:
2.5 mile walk with the family.
Friday:
-20 seconds each round, 4 rounds 10 seconds rest in between
- 4 rounds of jump squats
- 4 rounds of squat to overhead press, I used the coffee table books as weights
- 4 rounds of reverse lunge to overhead press {one arm at a time, opposite arm of the forward leg}
- 16 star jumps, I used a bottle of wine in each arm as weights. After doing 16, count to 10 and repeat x 4
- 4 rounds of squat to overhead press. 8 each arm {coffee table weights again}, count to 10 after both arms, repeat x4
- 20 total Hindu pushups, split up however you see fit
- 30 ankle taps, 4 rounds, no more than 10 seconds break after each, you will hate me.
Saturday:
3.85 mile outdoor run
