A plaid blazer is, easily, my one ‘must have’ for fall. As I mentioned in this Instagram post, blazers in my closet make for the easiest dressing. Pair it over a cocktail dress for an unexpected mix. Put one over your softest tank to be cozy and pulled together. Wear one with shorts in the transitional time between seasons. Wear it to a wedding and a work meeting.

I feel like I dress much more conservative than my peers, especially in San Diego. I much prefer to have my shoulders and décolletage covered. Maybe I am an 80 year old lady from the 1900s on the inside. Either way, a blazer is a must have for me and I have countless in my closet and all get worn and make sense in my life.

How to Wear It

The silhouette of an oversized one that seems to be all the rage/ channeling my in 80s child, is the best thing to have in your closet for this time of year. Want to make it make sense for year round? Pair it with white jeans and a tee for spring/summer. Try getting a lighter color plaid with smaller stripes to make it more versatile.

A plaid blazer is the easiest way to mix up what you already have in your closet, as we tread very slowly toward winter, especially her in San Diego {it is in the 90s all week. yuck.}. Pair it over a cashmere sweater for a cozy and chic look. Wear it with head to toe black for winter and, my personal favorite: with a white button down, jeans and your favorite pumps {these are mine} for the chicest look with will work in your life!
