A little spa day with my bestie from college. I’ve never been to this spa before, even though it is a San Diego favorite. We stayed the night and had ultimate girlie catch up time. Even my sister and law joined us for {too many} drinks and dinner.

The bathing suit I wore this weekend was an old Eberjey bikini of my mom’s but find some of my favorite swimwear, all on sale, below.

Can you believe that last year was the first year I have ever been to the famous Carlsbad Flower Fields? Another San Diego favorite that I just enjoyed. I got the cutest photos last year with the kiddos, so this year I went up with my mom. Madrid’s favorite were the pink, obviously and Leo’s was the shrubs at the top of the hill.

This afternoon, we went to a friend’s beer bong tournament and then out for a mom & dad date night with margaritas, naturally. I realize, now, that I look like quite the designer snob. Overpriced Designer Sneakers? Check! Obvious Gucci belt that everyone has? Check! Designer Handbag? Duh.

Me, like every other women, has insecurities. While even putting this out there for everyone to know, must less thinking it about my body, it is truth: I don’t love my thighs in shorts. I really have to convince myself to wear them and don’t like summer for this reason.

These denim shorts are the only ones I feel comfortable and confident in. I’m not sure who started this denim short trend where they are so short that I feel like I am on a first name basis with your gyno, but no thank you. I like that these are loose, distressed but with a cuffed hem and comfortable! Isn’t that what shorts weather is all about!?
