Something you probably don’t know about me, is I love to read and I am a fairly quick reader. I read almost every night before bed and a couple of books on this list, have kept me up reading well into the night. With one of them, I neglected work during my kids naps until it was done.
You will see that I have a genre that I prefer, suspense, women based literature. My mom and I share access to a kindle. I still don’t know quite how this works, but when she bought a new kindle model, I got her old one, but still access to all the books that she and I purchase on each device.
After a recent rainy day excursion to the book store, I left with an armful of paper books and found that I quite prefer to read books this way. Yet, the kindle is so amazing, because my mom and I can share books, even when she is traveling half a world away. Also, for traveling, it cuts down on the space and weight you have to lug around.

Books I Enjoyed Reading
All the Missing Girls
I could not put this down. Normally, when the kids nap if when I get work done, laundry done, the house cleaned and dinner started. Until this book was done, I found myself reading it when I found it on the counter, walking up stairs to get something and finding that I had spent 10 minutes reading it. Suspensful and a great beach read or travel book. It will probably keep you up, so not recommended for the end of the day wind down.
The Last Mrs. Pharrish
Not the best book on the list, not the worst. Interesting twists and turns and I need to look into if there is a sequel from a different characters’ perspective, as I have found myself wondering about what happened next to a couple of the characters.
American Royals
If you are a Royal Fan, this is teenage-ish {I embarrassed myself in the bookstore when I asked for it and they brought me to the ‘”Young Romance” section}. This is the rewritten version of history if the United States of America had a Royal Family.
My Husband’s Wife
Many twists an turns and a had an “ah-ha!” moment at the end.
The Royal We
This book, I must admit, I read years ago, but I think I finished it in record time. It is the fictional romance of Kate and Will, but she is American. Surprisingly, this book was written long before Meghan was in the picture. It has had a recent resurgence in popularity.
The Idea of You
This book was very sexual, but was a super fun beach read. I think I finished it in 24 hours on an ed of summer beach vacation.
A Stranger in the House
Again, not the best on the list, but still interesting to read and I was exited to crawl into bed to read it.
Watch Me Disappear
Admittedly, I was a little bored sometimes reading this, but you will be hooked that last 1/4 of the book and will be shocked but the last sentence.
The Women in the Window
This one I don’t recommend reading if you are home alone. It made me scared to go downstairs in the dark alone. And no, I am not seven years old.
Handmaid’s Tale
If you are a fan of the show or love beautiful writing, I recommend this. I really wished I had read it first since I like to build what characters look like and the setting of books in my head, but it was still amazing to read.
