Welcome to this week’s Friday Five post! This is the second week of this series where I share 5 things I’ve been thinking about, can’t stop thinking about or shopping for. {Check out last week’s post HERE}.
This week, I also included the Top 5 items/ things to consider for the Shopbop sale. If you are unaware, they have this sale where New Items are on sale for this week {ends Sunday, March 8th}. Items included tend to be new and will be full price next week. Depending on how much you spend, you can save between 15-25% off.
Make sure not to miss that selection at the bottom of this post.
Friday Five
- UNDER $100 BLAZER – This is my Number #1 recommendation to get during the Shopbop sale. This sale two years ago is where I decided to try this blazer and now it is easily one of the most worn items in my closet. Size up! I get a Medium. {check out my other top 5 of what to get from the sale, below.}
- LEAVING THE KIDS – As I shared for weeks before we left, we left the kids last week to go skiing {my first time in 18 years!} for a friend’s 40th. I am a mom 100% of the time, and fit in work, when I can, during nap time and late at night. Therefore these trips, no matter how few and far inbettwen are always a little something to look forward to, yet I HATE leaving my kids. We always leave them in capable hands and never with a stranger {duh!}, I still constantly worry before, during and after. We always, ALWAYS leave a note signed by us both that our parents, or my in laws, have the capacity and our permission to make medical decisions regarding the kids in our absence.
- RUFFLE BIKINI – I ordered this bikini months ago, once we booked a tropical vacation for May. It is currently on sale in a couple of colors, including navy and the polka dot high waisted bikini. Check out the one piece options, all on sale, here.
- TATCHA – I really don’t know what I did before this lip mask. It is a cult favorite and I see why. I keep it on my bedside table and was very thankful for it after our recent mountain vacay.
- SUPER TUESDAY – Are you following all this Democratic Nominee stuff??? We live for it in our house. It makes me nervous and excited as we move closer to a Presidential election. Regardless of how you feel about my political beliefs and the candidates in general, get out and VOTE. {for the zero people that asked, my most important topics are Human/LGBT/Women’s Rights, Global Climate Change and Gun Control, in no particular order.}
Top 5 Shopbop Sale Finds
These are items that I actually have, wear a ton and would recommend you to buy, even not on sale. All are classic pieces and can be worn multiple ways.
1 – BLAZER
As shared above, this is a timeless classic and a closet staple. I don’t have a workwear situation, but it would work for the office, out to drinks and everything inbetween. My go-to date night look is this blazer with a lace cami. I’ve worn it with shorts and over cashmere, it truly works for everything. On sale, you can get this for $66-$75, depending on how much you spend.
Size up, I get a Medium and have black, white, navy and a black and white tweed. I wear navy the most, but that is because it is my favorite color. I recommend black or navy, first!
2 – LOAFERS
I feel like I’ve told this story a million times, but I bought myself the Gucci loafers for a birthday a couple of years ago. Enter, this sale. I bought this loafer, to try them out and actually liked them better and promptly returned the Gucci to keep these. I have white and saddle. I ordered this dark brown “crocodile” loafer during this year’s sale.
3 – DENIM SHORTS
I am so selfconsious about my thighs, that that really might be the biggest shame about living in San Diego {and that fact that I prefer rainy, gloomy weather.} Either way, these really are the only shorts that I feel comfortable in and are the only pair of shorts you will ever find me in.
I wear them with a bikini to the pool, and with a blazer for a more pulled together summer look. They run true to size and are “on trend” with the distressing, but still don’t look sloppy with the color, fabric and cuffed hem.
4 – DESIGNER DENIM
Use this sale as a chance to get denim that you wouldn’t otherwise get! Last year, I feel in love with this brand and style. I got this style during the Nordstrom sale. Why jeans are $200+, I will never know, but I get compliments every single time I wear them.
5 – LUXURY ITEMS
Designer items/brands I love and have purchased in the past during this sale:
Anine Bing
Free People Dresses
Madewell
Salvatore Ferragamo
Solid and Striped
Staud Bags
Sunglasses
all are under $80, pre discount
I will continue to share with Swipe Ups on Instagram stories. If you get anything I mentioned, tag me! I want to see!
