If you are like me, you are constantly fighting against time. You need more time to sleep, workout, work, be with family, clean, iron, etc. etc. etc. If you are like me, you are also trying to fight the passage of time. I feel like I have been using “preventative” skincare since I was a teenager. I always wore sunscreen on my face {living in California, we had our lunch on the quad, no shade, at school, and I always was in the sun. Whether poolside, horse back riding, field hockey, I was always in the sun and made a conscious effort at 16 to wear sunscreen everyday}.
Now, with more knowledge of chemicals and what is in our food and products, for a minute, it was difficult to find beauty products that I liked and that were considered “clean.” Thank goodness for the clean beauty trend, because there are now countless! I love that Sephora included a green sticker on their products that they deem “clean.” That is what lead me to Tata Harper and Drunk Elephant in the first place. While in store recently, I was immediately drawn to the packaging, but when I found it was clean, it was a no brainer.
2 Beauty Brands I’m Newly Obsessed With
Drunk Elephant prides themselves on focusing on creating products that promote the skin’s health and stay true to their products formulations. They never include 6 ingredients that have proven to mask beauty products efficiency and have been linked to health issues. {the ingredients are: essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical sunscreens, frangances/dyes, SLS, (a sulfate product)}.
Tata Harper was started by Tata, a women who wasn’t willing to risk her safety for beauty. She couldn’t find beauty products that met her requirements, so she created her own line. It has a cult following, and after trying one product, you will see why! Plus the packing is among the chicest I have ever seen. You will want to leave it on your counter top for all to see!
The 3 Beauty Products for Brighter Eyes
Thanks to being a working, yet stay at mom home who has an addiction for 6am workouts {it is crazy, but it is “me” time}, I am always looking for tricks to make it look like I got the coveted 8 hours of sleep. Here are the 3 products that help me achieve that look, without having to give up my late nights at my desk and the early mornings at the gym. {#truth: If I am hungover, these eye drops and the products below will have no one knowing…}
Use all three of these products together, or each alone to get a bright eye look.
- Under Eye Brightening Corrector in ‘Light to Medium’
Dap this over your under eye concealer with these sponges. I focus on the inner corner, where my dark spots are. Then use what is left to “dab” almost in an upside down triangle under my eye, working out to my check bone to blend. I like this color, as it has a pink undertone. It looks great, and works wonders, used over concealer, or if in a rush, on its own.
- Cream Shadow Stick in ‘Golden Pink’
I use this everywhere and anywhere I see fit! Try on the inner corner, as an eyeshadow or eyeshadow base. Or, if I want to make my eyes very bright, I line the lower lash line. This is so delicious and gorgeous, that I will dab it in the center of my eyelid if I have done more of a smoky look or a heavier lid look.
- Waterproof Eyeliner in ‘Coconut’
Use this to make you eyes look bright and white. I use this to line my lower water line. This and mascara alone will make a world of difference.
