workout Wednesday: a heavy running week

beachside run

This week, due to our schedules, it was a heavy running week. This one of the millions of reasons I love running: my kids have been doing it since they were 6 weeks old in the stroller, so I know, in a pinch {when the husband is away, when the nanny cancels} I can still get a workout in and be with my cuties. This photo was from an unexpected Wednesday run, due to the nanny canceling {we have her once a week for 4 hours}. I was all signed up for Orange Theory near preschool drop off for my daughter. Due to the change in schedule, and my Bob Stroller living in my car, I was still able to spend the morning with Leo man, and get my addiction to post exercise endorphins taken care of.

Sweat App: FIERCE beginner Week 2: Full Body

Walking for 25 minutes on the treadmill, changing speed and incline every minute.

While, thanks to OrangeTheory, I am anything but a beginner level worker outer {yep, fully aware that isn’t a word}, I thought that this would be a fun way to mix up the app that I’ve been using for about 2 years. It was the first thing that I turned to and relied on when I was able to consistantly get back to a workout schedule {read: when little ones were waking me in the night anymore}, and what I give the credit for getting me back in shape, both after babies and to set the tone to become addicted to OrangeTheory.

On the days that I do this app, it is normally on mornings that it is my husband’s turn to workout first thing in the morning, and I know that I will be lucky to be able to spend 30-45 minutes in a row, working out in our home gym.

Wednesday:

4 mile outdoor run with Leo man along the water. The picture featured is from our run.

Thursday:

OrangeTheory

Friday:

Off.

I went to OrangeTheory with my best friend and I tried to keep up with her and injured myself. I took this day as a day to rest, stretch and ice my shoulder.

Saturday:

4.25 mile run pushing the double stroller.

Phewph! It has been a minute since I have pushed both cuties in the running stroller. Since, all together, I was pushing about 115 lbs, this was a hell of a workout. {if you follow along on IG stories, you see that we took a little playground break. We ran there, played and I stretched, then ran home.}
