Trying to get back to a blog post schedule is easier said than done in these times where moms are spread thinner than ever!
I explain my Friday Five posts in this blog post, but it is really just a fun way to include 5 random items. They can be recipes {like this week!}, items I recently purchased, a favorite meme or TikTok, really anything! I always include a little something for everyone and include why each item made the list of five each week. If you follow along on IG stories, then you know that I am constantly online shopping, so sometimes it can be very difficult to narrow this list down. It is a fun wrap up for the week, so check back on Fridays!
Friday Five
1 – SOFTEST JOGGERS EVER – I got these for everyone for Christmas and actually have them on now. A local San Diego company and THE softest things, like, ever, you will thank me later. Obviously, I’ve been watching too much tiktok as I currently have them on with cashmere and golden goose, with zero plans to leave the house, like they are real pants or something. Fact: the photo in this blog post is actually from a couple of years ago {notice the darker longer hair and lack of the built in in our Master? Oh, and the lower quality phone and photo…} So actually, I was rocking this exact combo long before TikTok.
2 – FAIRY GARDEN – Madrid got this as a birthday gift months ago. With no school this week and our Mexico travel plans cancelled due to a family health problem, we tackled this yesterday! Super fun and will be fun to watch it grow. I am promptly adding these to my Amazon cart to save for later for the next kindergarten birthday invite.
3 – LEOPARD WORKOUT SET – I feel like a Peloton instructor in this set, in the best way possible. Every time I order from this retailer, I forget how amazing their workout styles and prices are. The blue leopard print is a little outside my wheel house, but always love a navy, as you know! Trust me, try these and you will be like me: quickly ordering everything in that Eclipse fabric!
4 – BEST PEANUT SAUCE – I have been putting this peanut sauce on everything. {and even eating just by itself!} You will literally find yourself going to the grocery story late at night so you can steam brocollie to put it on, my favorite way to eat it.
Taken from Colleen Quigley’s Instagram {@steeple_squigs}. And take her advice and just make a double recipe now.
-1/2 cup natural peanut butter {your peanut/almond butter should have nothing in it but the nut! and maybe a pinch of salt. So many have added sugars and palm oil. Palm oil only adds shelf life and deforests the Amazon.}
-1/2 cup water {I start just adding a little at a time for the consistency that I want. If you make more to refrigerate, you might need to add more and give it a stir for later consumption.}
-2 tbsp soy sauce {I used aminos. Same exact taste but so much better for you.}
-1 tbsp + 1 tsp lime juice {I just use the juice of a half of lemon for a batch and the juice of an entire lemon for a double batch}
-1 tbsp maple syrup
-1 tbsp Sriracha {I use a little more, if not double.}
– 2 tsp curry powder {I just used whatever I had in my spices. I think I used paprika and added onion powder.}
- Stir slowly to make it the consistancy you want. I’ve found letting the peanut butter sit with the lemon juice for a little makes the sauce smoother, with not as much stirring needed.
- You will tweak and find what works for you!
- If you make this, tag me! My favorites are with tofu, steamed broccoli, tempeh and veggies or with just a spoon!
5 – STRAIGHT LEG JEANS – there is no secret in my stance on this entire “skinny jeans makes you old” thing. I love skinny jeans and consider them a part of my style identity. Nevertheless, I am always up to try new things, especially if it’s fashion related and not dad sneakers. I ordered these a couple of weeks ago in the wrong size and have been meaning to re order them. I’m convinced the next Shopbop sale is any day now, so get excited for more Swipe Ups on my stories and LIKEtoKNOW.it posts when it hits.
