We are about to head down to the BVI for our third year in a row. Chartering a sailboat was such a large part of our childhood and our family culture. My childhood memories growing up are summers on a sailboat in a tropical location, so it is beyond special to be able to share this with my kids.
This will be our third year in a row and each year it truly gets easier and easier. Funny enough, this will be son’s third time, but my daughter’s 4th; we thought it was a good idea to bring her down there when she was 3 months. Calling myself a nervous first time mom is putting it extremetly mildly. As an RN, I wasn’t nervous about a child, but I was nervous about just about everything else: schedule, sun, feeding, sleep and everything in between.
Now with my kids 6 and 8 years old, we are definitely at the sweet spot of parenting: no technology or obsession with friends just yet, but also able to handle a restaurant, travel and their own hygiene.
I can not believe that I’m already packed!Here is what I packed for me:
