workout wednesday: addicted to OrangeTheory

Why I like OrangeTheory:

As you can tell from the schedule of late, and especially the week documented in this post, I have officially become addicted to OrangeTheory. I really like the pace, the workouts and the strength that I’ve noticed in myself. Yes, it is nice to see physical changes in the mirror, but my speed that I can handle on the treadmill has increased by 1-2mph depending on the day. I feel confident that I can do weighted workouts with weights that I wouldn’t even consider 3 months ago, 1 year ago, 5 years ago. I have a couple of studios close to my house and I have found my instructors. The ones that know what songs I like, the ones that push me and the ones that yell at me when I’m trying to slow down.

Yes, I am crazy. No, I didn’t have any idea how crazy I was until I physically typed out this week’s workout and realized that I went 6 times.

Working out isn’t about being skinny. It is about being strong. Working out isn’t about have a certain body image. It is about having the best body image for you and your body type. Working out is about feeling great, living a longer healthier life and pushing yourself.

3.5 mile outdoor run with Reagan

I have put in so many miles recently in OrangeTheory, but I wanted to get outside and do one of my favorite “me time” activities. I also wanted to check that I could handle a random hill run instead of OrangeTheory sprinting intervals with the help of my favorite instructors’ playlist.

3 mile outdoor walk with some girlfriends

While this might seem like a chill day, I was the only one pushing a stroller and the only one who has never been on this extremely hilly walk before, so I had no idea what I was in for. After my crazy Orangetheory week, my ass was on fire.
